Forum: texts Subject: ATTN: JK or staff: problem with scandata.xml file

hi jeffrey--

i noticed there's a problem with the scandata.xml file in two of my items. the wrong page is listed as the title page, and consequently, when the book is read online, it opens up to that page rather than the title cover/title page of the book.

for example:

Title

page 20 is definitely not the title page, yet that's where the book open up. in fact, under shouldn't that read Normal? and page 1 in that same file (scandata.xml), which is the title page reads:

Normal

how can this be corrected? if i delete the scandata.xml file and run a re-derive in the item manager, will that rebuild this file so that the book can be read in the proper sequence?

as i said, this is an error in two of my items. if someone could please respond to this, i would much appreciate it.

thanks

ldw

the title page is chosen by criteria that involve the title and the prominence of that title on a page. the only way to alter this is to download the scandata.xml, alter it so the the tag is where you want it and replace the scandata.xml file with the modified one.
